1. Who we are
Autolok operates an online vehicle and parts auction marketplace in Kenya. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it and what rights you have under the Data Protection Act, 2019.
2. What we collect
Account details (name, email, phone), identity documents you upload for seller qualification (national ID or passport, selfie, KRA PIN), vehicle ownership documents (logbook, sale authority, financing clearance), payment and deposit references, bidding activity, and technical data such as device and log information.
3. Why we use it
To verify your identity and vehicle ownership, prevent fraud and stolen-vehicle listings, operate auctions and settlement, confirm memberships and deposits, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
4. Sharing
We share data only with parties needed to run the marketplace: payment processors, inspection mechanics assigned to your vehicle, licensed scrap and recycling partners for vehicles designated as scrap, and authorities where the law requires it. We never sell your personal data.
5. Storage and security
Identity and ownership documents are stored in restricted, access-controlled storage visible only to you and Autolok administrators. Vehicle photographs published on a listing are public. We retain records for as long as needed for legal, accounting and dispute purposes.
6. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Deletion requests may be limited where records must be retained for completed transactions.
7. Cookies
We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
